James Files is serving a 50-year sentence in Statesville Prison, Joliet, IL,
for attempted murder of two officers of the Round Lake Beach, IL, Police Department,
Detectives David Ostertag and Gary Bitler. Mr. Ostertag was seriously wounded in the 1991 shoot-out.
